Where in Europe for Christmas shopping?

Milan cathedralI want to have a Christmas trip shopping outside of the UK. Where should I go?

With Sterling falling so much, many people would urge you not to spend a penny more than you have to outside of the UK at the moment.

But  I think there is only one answer to your question – Milan. You can get a really cheap flight over there for around £100 return from London City Airport. It’s a business destination, so prices tend to be low.

It’s a lovely city with cheap accommodation, great museums, lovely food and drink, amazing places to wander around and one of the best cathedrals in all of Italy, which is really saying something. And they have great shopping, but beware, they of course charge in Euros and that is not good news for anyone with pounds.

Personally, if I were you, I would do all my shopping in London, then go to Italy and spent the rest of your money on pasta!
