Why do we laugh at funny things?

Question

LaughingWhy do we laugh when we hear something funny?
Eddie, Woodford

Answer

** Definitive **
Name: Sat, Dartford
Qualification: Watched Horizon
Answer: The programme did a study of chimps and found that when we’re scared of something, the face they pull is very similar to the muscles we use when we smile. It’s to show that we aren’t a threat to someone. Jimmy Carr then wrote that laughter is a social thing to show others that you get the joke.
