Why does my beard itch?

beard.jpgQuestion

I have my stubble as a shadow and it feels fine. But if it grows a couple of millimetres, it gets really itchy. Why does that happen?

Answer: The hair hits a length where it begins to curl. The sharp ends of the hair due to a previous shave then curl back on to the skin causing the tickling effect. If you let it grow, the hair length will force the ends away from the skin and thus stop the itching.
