Why don't breadcrumbs ever get mouldy?

I give breadcrumbs to birds, but was wondering: Why do slices of bread get mouldy but breadcrumbs don’t?Avril, Enfield

Answer: Breadcrumbs has a larger surface so it dries quicker and without the moisture, mould can’t grow.
