Why don't cafes sell spaghetti on toast?

Question

toastWhy can’t you ever get tinned spaghetti on toast at greasy spoon cafes? It’s delicious, but you can’t get it anywhere.

Answer: When you overcook spaghetti, it turns to slush and doesn’t hold together. The usual things you get on toast in a café – baked beans, mushrooms, tomatoes – you can keep them on a hotplate and they keep their shape. If you did the same to spaghetti, you end up with a lot of slush.
