Why is it bright when snowing at night?

When it was snowing on Saturday, I went out at midnight and it was very bright. Does that mean that snow clouds are brighter than normal clouds?

Answer: Any ambient light outside reflects off the white snow. Without the snow, it absorbs the light. Last weekend was close to a full moon, so there was extra light and that reflected off the white snow.
