Why is the cast on a movie poster always squashed up?
QuestionThe cast and crew writing on movie posters - why is it in a tall, squashed up font? Why not in a usual font like all the other text in the poster?
Answer** Definitive **
Name: Jason, Farringdon
Qualification: Graphic designer for film posters
Answer: It's because the film title height has to be a certain percentage of the director's height. That font is particularly suited to fitting a lot of letters in to a small space.
