Wimbledon Bin Outrage: Get Up at 5am or Face Fine

Friday 1st February 2013

People living on Wimbledon High Street could be forced to get up at five in the morning to put their bins out or face a fine.

The council trial will mean the'll only be able to leave waste for collection during two one hour-long slots - from 5-6pm or between 5-6am.

If it becomes permanent - anyone who leaves rubbish out at different times would face a fixed penalty notice.

Merton Council says other local authorities in London - such as Westminster - have similar rules.
