Officers have released CCTV pictures following two assaults which they believe are connected.

In the first incident at Stockwell Station, a woman on a busy platform asked if she could move backwards a little so she could move away from the edge.

Another woman took offence at the request and began shouting racist abuse at the victim, before threatening to push her in front of an approaching train.

She then followed the victim onto the train and attacked her. Other passengers dragged the woman away from the victim, who was left bruised and shaken by the attack.

Then five weeks later, a 19-year-old woman was barged into on the station stairs. She spoke politely to the woman who had bumped into her but, instead of apologising, the woman punched her in the face.

Having viewed CCTV footage, police believe the incidents were committed by the same person and have released a picture of a woman they wish to speak to.
