During the chaos involved in the NATO withdrawal from Afghanistan, diplomats misplaced the details of countless Afghan interpreters and assistants to the British mission in the country.
The details found their way into the hands of the Taliban, which led to weeks of uncertainty for those people as to whether they and their family would be safe in a Taliban-led Afghanistan.
Maajid Nawaz received a letter from a person stuck in Afghanistan in hiding from the Taliban, after his details were found by the group.
