Brentford hotel blaze: 100 firefighters battle to tackle Travelodge fire
100 firefighters are tackling a major blaze at Travelodge hotel in Brentford which has forced the evacuation of guests and staff.
Fifteen fire engines are attending the incident in High Street, Brentford, according to the London Fire Brigade.
The Brigade said firefighters have completed a search of the hotel. Around 160 guests and staff were evacuated from the building.
An LFB spokesperson said: "Firefighters continue to work hard in challenging conditions to bring the blaze under control."
Station commander Nathan Hobson said: "The whole of a single-storey bin room on the ground floor is alight. The fire spread to an adjacent hotel of five floors."
He said firefighters were carrying out a "systematic search of the hotel" after 17 calls were placed to 999.
One Twitter user said a member of the public ran up and down "every corridor on each floor telling us to leave."
Craig Wasylenko, who was staying in the hotel said authorities had brought in buses for hotel guests to ensure they had a refuge from the cold.
London Fire Brigade said the "whole of a bin room on the ground floor is alight. The fire spread to an adjacent hotel of five floors."
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
