The family was celebrating on the streets of Grenoble, in the south east of France, when the vehicle rammed the group late on Saturday, French media reports.

27 police officers and 40 firefighters attended the horrific scene after a vehicle "lost control" and ploughed into the group.

The car is reported to have collided with 'four members of the same family' just before midnight, an incident that's left one woman "fighting for her life", with two others in intensive care according to authorities.

It comes after Paris St Germain were crowned kings of Europe last night for the first time in their history, with the club securing a thumping 5-0 Champions League victory over Inter Milan in Munich.

According to reports published by local media, the driver jumped out of the car following the incident and "attempted to escape:, before handing himself over to police.

It comes amid violent pockets of celebration across France.
