'Don't send criminals abroad, put them to work!'

'They owe us a debt to society, they should repay it.' Caller Louis has told Shelagh Fogarty it's 'immoral' to send foreign criminals abroad. He suggests 'putting them on infrastructure projects' instead.

The debate came on the back of Reform UK announcing plans to deport all foreign nationals from Britain’s prisons.
Unveiling Reform’s prisons policy late on Sunday, the party’s Home Affairs spokesman Zia Yusuf vowed to “change the law so that those who commit serious crimes like murder, manslaughter, rape and serious violence serve their full sentences”.
Also, France’s lifeboat service has warned there is “no limit” to the number of migrants people smugglers will attempt to put on a new wave of 'mega dinghies' trying to reach the UK.
