A brief video circulating on social media shows the fast bowler, who appears to be restrained and surrounded by four police officers, outside a busy nightspot in Derby,
Carse is set to feature in the England squad for the upcoming second Test against Pakistan starting August 27.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has confirmed Carse is currenly under investigation after the alleged incident.

A statement from the ECB read: “We are aware of an incident which is reported to have taken place in Derby last night, and are currently investigating.“We will provide a further update when possible.”
It is understood that Carse was not on England duty at the time of the incident.
Details of the incident, and why Carse was placed in handcuffs, remain unclear, but it is thought that the 31-year-old cricketer returned to the team hotel shortly after the incident.
In the video, his Durham and England team-mate Matthew Potts appears to be attempting to speak with Carse, as well as England Test captain Ben Stokes also appearing briefly in the background.
According to The Telegraph, Carse was not formally arrested by police, only detained.
Carse was set to be part of the England squad for the Lord’s Test on Thursday, with training beginning on Tuesday.
