Bonehill-Paine has since withdrawn amid a backlash, but was offered the role of as adviser to the party’s culture and integration commission, an unpaid position with a focus on how young men can become radicalised.
Jewish leaders turned down a meeting with him.
In a joint statement, the Board of Deputies and the Jewish Leadership Council said: “The severity of Joshua Bonehill-Paine’s crimes targeting Luciana Berger and others mean that he still faces ongoing legal restrictions."
