Around 30 women were filmed laughing and posing for photos as a Tecnomar for Lamborgini 63 yacht sank with them on board during boozy Formula One Miami Grand Prix weekend celebrations near Monument Island.

Videos taken before the boat sank showed the bikini-clad women popping champagne and dancing on board the luxury vessel, which is designed to hold just five passengers and two crew members.

The yacht tipped over and began to sink rapidly at around 5pm on Saturday afternoon.

Footage of the sinking sparked outrage from online commenters due to the flippant reactions of the women, who filmed themselves laughing and making comments like: "It's giving Titanic."

Meanwhile, a man can be heard laughing and shouting "Iceberg" and "women and children first."

The women clutched luxury items, including designer handbags, a MacBook Air laptop, and a bottle of tequila worth $330, as they were rescued from the sinking vessel by the US Coast Guard.

One Instagram user commented "They don't care because they don't own it and it and have no idea how expensive that is."

Another said "It's like someone's boat is sinking, they're panicking, probably upset - and the bimbos on your boat are just laughing, cracking jokes ... That's not humor, that's heartlessness disguised as a vibe."

No one was injured during the incident.

It is now under investigation, as the boat was significantly over its intended capacity.
