Man arrested after trying to ‘kick in door of MP’s office while shouting fascist’
Labour MP Jess Phillips has said a man was arrested after attempting to gain entry to her constituency office while shouting she is a 'fascist.'
Speaking to LBC the MP for Birmingham Yardley said a man was arrested attempting to gain entry to the office she uses for her constituency work in the West Midlands.
She said: "My staff had to be locked into my office while a man tried to smash the windows and kick the door, I believe."
She told Shelagh Fogarty that apparently the man was shouting she was a "fascist."
In 2018 the MP's office was vandalised. The Labour revealed yesterday that she had been sent death threats to the same office.
On Twitter, she said: "This week I received an anonymous letter to my constituency office here is what it said. @10DowningStreet might think we are "humbugs" about his words but they are literally being used in death threats against me."
The note read: 'It was rather prophetic that Boris Johnson should say: "I would rather be found dead in a ditch". That is what will happen to those who do not deliver Brexit.'

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Police were called to reports of a disturbance outside an address on Yardley Road in Acocks Green, Birmingham just before 2.25pm this afternoon (26 September).
"A 36-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and possession of cannabis.
"He’s been taken into police custody and will be questioned in due course."
