Three people have been arrested after a man's body was reportedly found in the wall cavity of a former bank in West Yorkshire.

According to the Sun, police found the remains in the fabric of the building in Batley.

Detectives said they are working to confirm the man's identity and the circumstances surrounding his death after officers forced entry to the premises in Commercial Street on Sunday.

All three of those arrested were held on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

Two have been released under investigation while the third has been bailed, according to West Yorkshire Police.

A crime scene remains in place after police entered the premises on Sunday afternoon.

Forensics officers were seen entering the property.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "Police attended the former bank premises in Commercial Street, Batley on Sunday in relation to enquiries by West Yorkshire Police’s Homicide and Major Enquiry Team.

"Road closures were put in place to allow officers to search the building.

"These searches are continuing today and the road closures remain in place.

"There is no risk to the public at this time.”
