Lewis Jack, who was born in Glasgow, was last seen on Saturday night in Gold Coast beach haven, Surfers Paradise.

He was found in the water near the Isle of Capri, off the Gold Coast, at 7.40pm on Tuesday night.

Queensland Police launched a missing persons enquiry for Mr Jack after he vanished in Surfers Paradise.

Police are not treating his death as suspicious.

Detectives believe Mr Jack may have been under the influence of alcohol when he fell into the water and tragically drowned.

It's understood that Mr Jack caught a taxi from Cavill Avenue - Gold Coast's nightlife hub - back to near his accommodation on Chevron Island. However, he did not return on Saturday.

Mr Jack was last seen walking on Gibraltar Drive, which is next to the Nerang River.

Mr Jack's loved ones expressed their heartache on social media. One user, Sharon Smith, wrote: "Lewis has been found my heart is hurting he is no longer with us his brothers and I are broken".

Another friend writes: "You'll never be forgotten" and "forever 22".

Mr Jack's grandmother, Margaret Mooney, left a touching tribute to her grandson on social media, writing that her heart is "broken".

"It is with a broken heart that I have to say my beautiful grandson has sadly been found. Thank you for all the lovely words and the shares."
