Poland investigating 'potential sabotage' after technical fault with air traffic control system

This week, Poland grappled with a spike in fire-related incidents, with three major blazes within two weeks.
The latest occurred on Monday at a warehouse in Siemianowice Śląskie, southern Poland.
Only a day earlier, a fire had engulfed a production hall in Mińsk Mazowiecki, about 35 km east of Warsaw, the Polish capital.
On July 1, a massive blaze tore through a residential housing complex in the Warsaw suburb of Ząbki, damaging over 200 apartments and forcing the evacuation of more than 500 residents.
Polish Interior Minister Tomasz Siemoniak said the government is now scrutinizing each such incident through the lens of potential sabotage.
“Since January 2024, we have seen several attempted acts of sabotage. Every significant incident, fire, or attempted arson is being assessed as a potential act of sabotage,” he said during a press briefing.
