Police launch 'major operation' after '17 people' stabbed at Hamburg train station as woman arrested
Police in Hamburg Germany have launched a "major operation" following reports of a mass stabbing at a train station.

According to reports in Germany, 17 people were stabbed at Hamburg Central Station on Friday evening.
Hamburg Police confirmed a major operation had been launched after "several" people were injured in a mass stabbing, but did not give specific numbers on those injured.
A woman has been arrested.

A police statement read: "According to initial findings, a person allegedly injured several people with a knife in #Hauptbahnhof . The suspect was arrested by police."
Pictures on social media show crowds gathered outside the transport hub, as emergency service vehicles swarmed the scene.
According to local broadcaster NDR, the Hamburg fire department has said three people are in a critical condition, three more seriously injured and six with minor injuries.
This brings the total number of reported victims up to 12.
Reports on social media say the attack took place on platforms 13 and 14 of the major transport hub.
