The chaos came after PSG won the biggest prize in European club football, for the first time in their history.

Thousands of supporters gathered in Paris to watch PSG play Inter Milan in Munich.

559 were arrested after flares and fireworks were set off, and bus shelters and cars were torched on Saturday night, including 491 in the capital.

A 17-year-old boy was stabbed to death in the south-western town of Dax during a gathering to celebrate the victory.

A second person riding a scooter died after they were hit by a car in the southwest of Paris, authorities said, while a police officer is reported to be in a coma in the north-west of the country.

Four members of the same family were also seriously injured in Grenoble, in the south east of France, after a car ploughed into the celebrating group.

27 police officers and 40 firefighters attended the scene after the vehicle "lost control".

The car is reported to have collided with 'four members of the same family' just before midnight, an incident that's left one woman "fighting for her life", with two others in intensive care according to authorities.

A fourth person is said to be "extremely badly injured," an emergency services spokesman added.

The four family members were taken to nearby Grenoble Alpes University Hospital for treatment.

Footage emerging from the scene following the incident shows paramedics crowded around the injured on the city street.

Locals look on in horror as paramedics attempt to save the family.

According to reports published by local media, the driver jumped out of the car following the incident and "attempted to escape:, before handing himself over to police.

A police prefecture provided more information on the incident, explaining "a vehicle apparently lost control" and that the driver had now surrendered to authorities and had been detained.

It comes amid violent pockets of celebration across France.

In Bastille, located to the west of Paris, a 23-year-old woman was seriously injured after falling onto barriers from the famous monument.

Police also enforced barriers around the Champs-Élysées, with officers protecting major department stores in the city and steel shutters deterring looters.
