Hilarious Call From Man Who Wants Gatwick Locals To Shoot Down The Drone

Share

This LBC caller had a rather interesting solution to solving the Gatwick drone saga - setting locals loose with shotguns to shoot it down.

Julian phoned Nick Ferrari after the runway at Britain's second largest airport reopened for a limited number of flights.

It was shut down on Wednesday night when a drone was spotted flying inside its perimeter.

Police are continuing to search the person responsible, but Gatwick's boss has refused to rule out the possibility of more drone disruption.

Julian, however, wanted locals to take up arms and shoot it down themselves.

“There are tens, if not hundreds of thousands of people in this country who own a shot gun and spend time shooting down flying objects,” he said.

“Surely we could have put an appeal out for anybody that lives within 30 miles of Gatwick with a shotgun.

“Come down, we’ll vet you quickly, we’ll check you out, put them all around the perimeter and shoot it down.”

Struggling to contain his laughter, Nick quipped: “Julian, do we really want a lot unknown, armed men and women wandering around Gatwick Airport when we’ve got this level of emergency?”

Julian, however, was undeterred and continued to defend his idea.
