Shaking hands for an uncomfortable amount of time, the warm greeting turned into something akin to an arm wrestle as Mr Macron tried to release his hand from Trump’s grasp and walk off stage.
The two men appear to exchange some intense words before Mr Macron eventually manages to free himself from Trump’s grasp before leaving the stage.
It is not clear what the men were discussing but at one point Trump reportedly states: “I am making peace.”
Macron replies “Ah come on."

Trump then says “I only hurt those who hurt others,” according to a lip reader.
“I see. We will have to see about that,” Mr Macron replies before Trump hits back: "You will see what is about to happen."
It is not the first time the two men have been filmed in an uncomfortable handshake. In 2017 footage of the men went viral after they locked hands for 29 seconds.
In June 2018 the two men shook hands multiple times at the G7 summit including one handshake which left the shape of Mr Macron’s thumb imprinted onto Donald Trump’s hand.
On this occasion, the handshake lasted 26 seconds while the men posed for photographs while tugging at each other’s arms and changing grips.
One viewer commented: “Diplomacy, but make it WWE.”
Another said: “Trump and Macron today with the arm-wrestle battle at the Gaza Peace Summit.”
