Italian-born Sinner confirmed that he would not be appearing at the major championship after sustaining a knee injury following his Wimbledon title last month.
Sinner has missed the Canadian Open and the Cincinnati Open since his triumph in SW19.
And he confirmed on Friday that his spell on the sidelines will continue past the US Open.

"Even though I have been working hard with my team and my medical staff, we have now had to make the difficult decision that I will not be able to compete at the US Open this year," Sinner wrote in a statement posted to X.
"We have been back on court in Monte Carlo over the last couple of days and have realised that I still need more time to recover from my right knee issue.
"I'm obviously very sad and disappointed, as New York has a special place in my heart. I was very much looking forward to coming back and playing in the electric atmosphere in front of the great fans there."
The absence of Sinner opens the field up for wannabe champions.
But this will not include British hopeful Jack Draper, who also pulled out of the major on Friday.
With Sinner out, Carlos Alcaraz becomes an overwhelming favorite to win the title.
