Men arrested in east London on suspicion of terror offences

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of terror offences in east London, police have said.

A 27 year-old-man has been arrested at an east London home on suspicion of plotting a terror attack.

A second man, aged 21, was also arrested at a different property in east London on suspicion of terrorism offences.

The first man was detained on suspicion of being concerned in the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism under section 41 of the Terrorism Act.

The second was arrested on suspicion of encouragement of terrorism and dissemination of terrorist publications under sections 1 and 2 of TACT.

Both men remain in custody in south London police stations.

Officers are carrying out searches at the two residential addresses, as well as a third commercial premises in east London.
