A Metropolitan Police officer has been dismissed without notice after she stole brandy from a hotel and became aggressive towards staff.

PC Rachel Lewis checked into a London hotel after finishing shift on 10 December 2017, before ordering food and drink in the bar.

But as the evening progressed, she became "increasingly aggressive towards hotel staff", before stealing the bottle of brandy and drinking it.

The next day, she searched through the internal police database to see if anyone had reported her for her behaviour.

The Met Police said in a statement: "Police Constable Rachel Lewis, who was based at NW-BCU (North West Basic Command Unit), answered allegations that her conduct amounted to a breach of the Standards of Professional Behaviour in respect of Authority, Respect and Courtesy; Honesty and Integrity; and Confidentiality.

"She was dismissed without notice."
