WATCH the moment two masked burglars slide out of a cupboard into a jewellery store before stealing more than £300,000 worth of gold.

Detectives investigating the burglary of a jewellery store on Lee High Road in Lewisham, have released CCTV as they appeal for information to help identify the suspects and locate the stolen property.

The footage appears to show to masked men slithering out of a cupboard and stretching out before ransacking several display units and loading their loot into bags.

A Met Police spokeswoman said the pair entered the premises through the wall from a neighbouring property.

Scotland Yard told LBC News the burglary took place during the night of Sunday, 10 February into Monday, 11 February.

The thieves stole a large quantity of Asian gold worth in excess of £300,000.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Leisa Johnson, of the Met’s Flying Squad, said: “A significant quantity of distinctive items of jewellery was taken during this offence and those pieces will have been offered to someone.

“Do you recognise any of the items? Have you been offered Asian gold for sale in other than normal circumstances? If you have any information, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem, please contact police immediately.”
