A Londoner has taken to Twitter to show the bizarre route his Uber took that ended up costing him £102 - for a journey that should have cost £15.

Daniel Kaizen, a bartender, order the car to take him from Old Street to Wood Green early on Easter Monday.

Kaizen, who admits he was drunk at the time, reckons the journey took five times as long as it should have.

The total bill came to £102 - a figure that Uber has now refunded after Kaizen Tweeted his route.

An Uber spokesperson told the Standard: "We are investigating exactly what happened in this instance and have given the rider a full refund.

"Unlike other transport options Uber offers transparent receipts with a record of every trip and a map of the route taken so if there is an issue it can be resolved."
