This is the moment a silver Ford Fiesta swerved on to the wrong side of the road before hitting a group of cyclists and crashing into a barrier at the Houses of Parliament.

A rooftop camera caught video of the moment the car "deliberately" drove into the barrier at Westminster.

The Met Police have confirmed they are treating this as a terrorist incident and the investigation is being led by Counter Terror detectives.

The government's emergency committee Cobra met this afternoon - with the UK terror threat level remaining at "severe".

The video shows the car about to drive around Parliament Square, but suddenly swerves into a group of cyclists waiting at at traffic light.

The Ford car then continues towards College Green before pulling into a slip road and accelerating towards a security barrier outside Parliament.

Two police offices can be seen vaulting over walls to get out the way of the car.

The Met Police is continuing to question a 29-year-old man who is a UK national.
