Sudbury Court Drive

The woman in her 70s was hid with a screwdriver as thieves stole her wedding ring and other jewellery.

The robbery happened at the woman’s house in Sudbury Court Drive, Harrow. The victim was home alone when three men knocked on her door looking for a man called O’Brien. She told them they had the wrong house and the men left.

Ten minutes later the suspects came back and forced their way into the woman’s house. They tied the woman up and poured bleach over her head while hitting her with a screwdriver.

The suspects made off with the woman’s wedding and engagement ring and as well as cash.

Police are now hunting three suspects, all described as white males in their early 20s, with slim builds and were wearing black clothes at the time of the burglary. One is described as being around 5ft 3ins tall and the other two around 5ft 8ins. They are believed to be Eastern European.

Detective Constable John Gillespie of Brent CID said: "This was a cowardly and shocking burglary on a vulnerable elderly woman and I would appeal for anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in Sudbury Court Drive to come forward and help us with our enquiries.

"It is a terrible thing to happen in the place where you should feel most safe and the victim has lost items of high sentimental value."
