20 people injured following 'huge crash' in Cambridgeshire

Emergency services have rushed to the scene of a crash in Cambridgeshire.

Police and paramedics are attending the scene of a crash near St. Ives.

20 people are being treated by paramedics for their injuries.

The B1040 has been completely shut at the cross roads of Somersham Road and Bluntisham Heath Road due to the accident.

Two vehicles were involved in the accident, which police have now confirmed are a minibus and a car.

Police are still in attendance and have said drivers in the area should expect delays.

The Cambridgeshire Fire service have said more than 20 firefighters are at the scene of the crash.

A police spokesman said: "Multiple people are involved and some are seriously injured.

"The roads going in either direction at the junction have been closed and motorists are advised to avoid the area."

Casualties are being taken to Addenbrooke's and Hinchingbrooke hospitals, a spokeswoman for the East of England Ambulance Service said.
