Clare Balding tells LBC News that women need equal pay in sports, but more important for them is respect.

Clare was speaking to LBC News follwing the landmark deal in Australia to ensure the country's top women football players will now earn the same as their male counterparts.

The move is aimed at closing the gender pay gap between the country's national teams.

But, the veteran sports broadcaster said the men's World Cup is "phenomenally more valuable" and has "much bigger prize money."

Clare said it's just the basics, "if you're good enough to play for England, or Scotland or Wales" she believes your basic pay should be the same, no matter your gender.

She told LBC News while money is important, respect is more vital.
