Drunk Driver Launches Car Into The Air: Shocking Dashcam Footage

This is the shocking footage of a drunk driver launching her car into the air after failing to negotiate a roundabout - all while her toddler son was in the car.

Tania Chikwature, 32, has been jailed for 26 weeks after the crash, in which she was more than three times over the legal limit.

Footage caught on the dash cam of a trailing car shows Ms Chikwature overtakin a lorry on the wrong side of the solid white lines.

She approached the roundabout too quickly and launched her car 15 feet into the fair, coming to a stop on her roof 50 metres down the road.

Members of the public went to their aid and pulled the toddler, who was hanging upside down in his car seat, out of the wreckage.

PC David Tudman said: "Chikwature showed complete disregard for the safety and welfare of her child and other road users in her manner of driving. It is pure luck that nobody was killed that day.

"This should serve as a warning to all motorists to highlight the dangers of driving while under the influence of alcohol; and to do so whilst in charge of a child is utterly irresponsible."
