A man is to appear in court charged with the rape and murder of Hull student Libby Squire.

Pawel Relowicz was charged with the offences last week by Humberside Police and is due to appear in Hull Magistrates' Court on Wednesday afternoon.

The 25-year-old was first arrested in August on suspicion of the murder of Ms Squire, but was later released under investigation.

Ms Squire was reported missing in early February after being refused entry to a club during a night out with friends in Hull.

An intensive search was carried out in the area where the 21-year-old was last seen, including door-to-door enquiries around streets near her home.

Members of the public joined hundreds of uniformed and specialist officers and firefighters in a search which lasted several weeks.

On 20 March, the body of a young female was recovered from the Humber Estuary, and tests later identified her as the missing student.
