Young couples seeking their first home could snap up a property in Birmingham for just £50,000... but only if they are prepared to clean it first.

The semi-detached house in Quinton comes complete with two bedrooms, a back garden, a garage and a driveway.

But photos on the property listing website Zoopla also show mounds of rubbish piled-up inside.

The listing adds the house "will be sold with the contents inside" and there will only be "external viewings for this lot".

An image of one room, which appears to be of the lounge, shows items such as boxes, chairs and cuddly toys piled up several feet high.

A photo of a separate room shows a broken wardrobe behind a mound of bulging bags of rubbish.

Another photo shows where a layer of plaster has peeled away from the ceiling in what appears to be a utility room.

The listing reads: "Opportunity to acquire this two-bedroom semi-detached property in need of refurbishment.

"The property is located in a popular residential area, close to King Edwards at Bartley Green and Five Ways schools, Newham University as well as local amenities being nearby."

The house will be auctioned off at Derbyshire County Cricket Ground on 3 April.

Zoopla estimates other houses on the street to be worth around £110,000.
