Woman charged with manslaughter after death of Fatiha Sabrin, 11

A woman has been charged with manslaughter in connection to the death of 11-year-old Fatiha Sabrin in December 2021.

The Metropolitan Police said Jesmin Akter, 33, of Sutton Street, Shadwell, was also charged with importing a regulated substance.

She is due to appear at Thames Magistrates' Court on Tuesday August 22.

Fatiha Sabrin was found unresponsive at a property in Sutton Street on December 11 2021 and died in hospital later the same day.

Her family have been informed of the charge and they continue to be supported by family liaison officers.

The charge follows an investigation by detectives from the Met's Specialist Crime Command.
