Britons are among those arrested for involvement in a drugs ring in Spain.

The gang is accused of transporting three tons of cannabis from Gibraltar and Morocco to Spain's Costa del Sol.

Spanish police said the gang was based in the upmarket town of Marbella.

They rented yachts to move the drugs to marinas on the region's coast, which is dominated by tourist resorts.

Germans and Spaniards were also involved, police said, and the operation was led by a Spanish woman and her German partner, police said.

A drone, four cars, 30 mobile phones and €630,000 (£539,000) in cash were seized by authorities.

Those involved have been charged with membership of a criminal organisation and drug trafficking.

Four of them have been jailed, police said.
