Leave Means Leave chairman John Longworth accuses Gina Miller of walking around "with her fingers in her ears" as she defends the People's Vote campaign.

Mr Longworth said he believes Theresa may will not be able to get a second referendum happen through Parliament and that "she certainly will not get it through without the help of Labour, which would be unprecedented."

He said: “There is a huge amount of anger out there amongst people who voted Leave, because what the people of the losers vote are trying to do here, because it is only the losers in the last referendum who want another vote, is to reverse the democratic will of the people.

“Another referendum would be so decisive for Britain, it would be catastrophic and it would cause a much bigger problem than anything that could happen economically for the UK.

“People would lose faith in the system and this is no longer a matter of Brexit, it is a matter of democracy.”

But he accused People's Vote campaigner Gina Miller of "going round with her fingers in her ears" when she said that people wanted a second vote because "they've realised that what was promised can't be delivered."

She said: “Brexit was the last straw among many things, policy negligence that has happened among successive governments. This doesn’t just happen overnight and I think you have to address that.

“Whatever happens next time, I think we have to draw a line under this and get back to our country.

“We have a zombie parliament who is not doing anything other than Brexit, our country and the people in it are being neglected.”
