Maajid Nawaz says "petulant" Trump has fallen for the 'fake news' he's so strongly against in this searing rant about the President.
Maajid Nawaz slams the US President for his "petulance" in this scathing analysis of Trump's hypocrisy towards 'fake news'.
Donald Trump claimed his Press Secretary Sean Spicer's claims about GCHQ (Government Communications Headquarters) 'putting him under surveillance' were based on comments from Fox News.
On his Sunday afternoon LBC show Maajid Nawaz summed up the hypocrisy of Trump's comments.
Maajid said: "Just because you heard something in the media, does that mean you repeat it like a parrot? And accuse your strongest ally of spying on you?
"I mean that has geo-strategic security consequences. Surely someone is fact checking where you get your news from? Evidently not.
"I mean are you, seriously, Trump supporters, are you OK with the fact Trump's repeating the first thing that he hears on TV? When you're the guys who regularly call into this show to say 'don't believe everything you hear in mainstream media'?
"Hasn't the President fallen pray to the very fake news 'don't believe everything you hear in mainstream media' malarky you've got going on?"
