Labour MP Says SNP Are Out To "Destroy" His Party
30 November 2016, 13:39 | Updated: 30 November 2016, 14:07
Ian Austin MP says there's one reason why the SNP keep bringing up Tony Blair and Iraq: their desire to finish Labour off.
Joining Shelagh Fogarty on her LBC show this afternoon as MPs debate holding Tony Blair to account over the Iraq War, Austin was quite clear in his attack on Alex Salmond and the SNP.
"Let's be honest about this. Alex Salmond is never going to be persuaded, the SNP are never going to be persuaded [to stop pursuing Blair].
"Their objective is very clear. I think they want to destroy the Labour Party.
"We've got a Conservative government that last week had an Autumn Statement which is really bad for working people in Scotland. They don't want to question the Tories about that because they want to destroy the Labour Party."
Alex Salmond's response to that? Tune in for the Alex Salmond Phone-In on LBC with Iain Dale this evening.
