Answer: Dog’s tail docking and ear cropping in the UK is illegal except for working dog breeds. I have a working cocker with a quarter crop. When they’re running through brush and working heavily they don’t want to get broken tails – it can cause serious complications only if you’re a working vet are you allowed to dock. It is just to avoid injury.
