The deportation of illegal migrants has been at the forefront of Trump's agenda in recent weeks, with Monday's press briefing being used to announce White House claims if a dramatic fall in border crossings.

Monday saw placards positioned along the lawn's perimeter, with the word 'arrested' printed in capital letters above the mugshots of what the administration claim are deported illegal immigrants.

It comes as the White House continued to insists "no US citizen child was deported" in case of a two-year-old child who was reportedly removed to Honduras with her mother leaving her father in the US.

On Friday, a Federal District Court Judge wrote in an order that there was a "strong suspicion that the Government just deported a U.S. citizen with no meaningful process".

“Get your affairs in order. If you’re in the country illegally, work with ICE, go to CBP One Home app, and leave on your own,” Homan said during the White House press briefing.

It comes as he said on Sunday that “having a U.S. citizen child doesn’t make you immune from our laws of the country".

“American families get separated every day by law enforcement.”

The case of the two-year-old deported to Honduras has garnered widespread attention in recent weeks.

Judge Terry Doughty, who was appointed by Trump during his first term, made the comments relating to the case after he sought to arrange a phone call with the child's mother.

However, on Friday, lawyer's for the Justice Department informed him that a call with the child's mother would not be possible, court documents reveal.
