Speaking from the emergency room at Nasser Medical Complex, British surgeon Victoria Rose said there had been a shooting at the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) aid distribution centre near Rafah.

31 people were killed and over 100 injured by Israeli gunfire at around 4:30am local time near an aid distribution centre in Gaza, according to medics and the Hamas-run health ministry.

Rose said the hospital's emergency room has had an "extortionate amount of people come through the door."

Many of the injured people were taken to field hospitals, the British surgeon said.

Locals believe between 100 and 200 people have been injured by gunshots, Rose says.

Rose points to a medical bay behind her, where a man is being treated for a gunshot wound.

"All the bays are full, and they're all gunshot wounds."

"It's absolute carnage here, and there are even more people in the main emergency department."

The video shows the hospital corridors, which are full of people.

The head of UNRWA - the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East - says aid distribution in Gaza has become a 'deathtrap'.

Phillippe Lazzarina was speaking after the Hamas-run health ministry said 31 people had been trying to reach aid supplies in the territory.

Yet Noga Tarrnopolsky, a journalist in Jerusalem, told LBC that the claim is not being backed up by Israel.
