One man was killed and another injured after a waste container they were sleeping in was emptied into the bin lorry with the men inside.
The two men had been sleeping in a large bin outside a shopping centre on Long Island in New York on Thursday.
A school janitor spotted a person in the back of the lorry when it stopped outside William T. Rogers Middle School in Kings Park, New York, nearly six miles away at around 6:30am.
The janitor alerted the lorry driver to stop. The back of the lorry was then emptied outside of the school.
The injured man was freed from the rubbish and taken to a local hospital for treatment with a leg injury.

"Somehow, he was able to climb out of that. I wish I could tell you how," said Kings Park Fire Department Assistant Chief Michael Frail.
The second man was buried beneath the rubbish and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials at the middle school sent a message to parents to inform them that the emergency response outside the school was "completely unrelated" to the school and that there was no threat to students or staff.
The middle school closed one of its car parks while emergency services were ongoing, but the school remained open.
The container was used by shops inside the shopping centre to dispose of waste.
Business owner Geoffrey Schwartz said: "Sometimes we do see some people dumpster diving here but... we don't think they're gonna spend the night."
The police investigation is ongoing. Police have said that the medical examiner's office will establish the cause of death.
