Award-winning comedian Shazia Mirza has an intriguing theory on why British teenage girls are joining ISIS: sex.

Mirza joined Iain Dale on LBC this evening and gave her take on why schoolgirls are fleeing the UK to sign up for the terror group.

"As barbaric as these ISIS men are, you have to admit: they are hot!

"They're macho, they're hairy...you don't get men like that on Tinder, I've checked."

Her new comedy show The Kardashians Made Me Do It is touring at the moment and deals with the controversial topic.

She told Iain: "It's nothing to do with religion. At that age you do not know the essence of Islam...it's not about politics.

"So it is about these young girls who are, I say, being sexualized on the Internet."
