Theresa May has sent a warning to her Cabinet that “there is no such thing as an unsackable minister” during an exclusive interview with LBC.

The Prime Minister told Iain Dale she was prepared to take action if private discussions were leaked to the press again.

It comes after alleged comments by Chancellor Philip Hammond at a Cabinet meeting last week appeared on the front pages of two different newspapers.

Mr Hammond is said to have told the meeting that public workers are “overpaid” and “even a woman can drive a train”.

Yesterday, Mrs May reminded Ministers confidential information must be kept private.

However, asked what she’d do if it happened again by Iain, Mrs May responded: “Well there’s no such thing as an unsackable minister.

“But at the moment the team is together and we’re getting on with the job of delivering what we believe the British people want us to do.”
