Ian Collins: Stop Calling Everyone Nazis

Ian Collins is sick of everyone who disagrees with others' opinions being called Nazis.

The LBC presenter says the word is being massively over-used for anyone who has a different opinion to you.

Speaking on his late-night show, he said: "Anyone who disagrees with a political view is immediately caricatured in the same way, you caricature that person almost as a Nazi.

"Conservatives, a middle of the road centre-ground Party, are being called Nazis. It's just the most extraordinary misplaced accusation you would wish to throw at somebody.

"But if you've decided in your head because you are either so daft, deluded or brainwashed that you think somebody is literally as evil as Adolf then they are fair game for anything.

So writing threats of violence and rape or whatever it happens to be on Twitter, turning up throwing some placards with the most offensive things written on them, smashing some windows and kicking people shins is completely justified because you've already decided that they have the moral fibre of Adolf Hitler and Chairman Mao combined and therefore what's not to like about a bit of gentle violence in their direction?

"And that's the trouble. The window or the parameters are narrowing and narrowing in what people decide are wrong and offensive and they don't just disagree with them, they're always seen as the kind of enemy, that everybody immediately becomes a racist or a Nazi on the basis they have a different view about child tax credits for goodness sake.

"That's where we've arrived at."
