Man dies after being hit by ambulance in Oxfordshire

A 35-year-old man has died after being hit by an ambulance on the A34 in Oxfordshire in the early hours of Friday morning.
Thames Valley Police confirmed they are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the A34.
A spokesperson for the force said they received a report of a collision at around 3.20am between an ambulance and a pedestrian on the northbound carriageway of the A34, between the junctions for Peartree and Islip.
One local said they had seen a damaged ambulance.

Officers attended the scene and found the pedestrian had died.
Specialist officers are supporting the next of kin of the man.
One lane of the A34 remains closed northbound at this time between Hinksey and Peartree while the road surface repairs are completed.
