A pregnant woman and two children are among 10 people found in the back of a lorry on the A14 in Cambridgeshire.

Two people have been arrested, one on suspicion of assisting unlawful immigration and one on suspicion of firearms offences.

The lorry was stopped by police at a Shell garage in Godmanchester after receiving calls concerned for the welfare of those inside the lorry.

Those found inside the vehicle were immediately taken to hospital, but there are no reports of injuries.

A spokesman for Cambridgeshire constabulary said: "Ambulance attended and those within the lorry have been taken to hospital, but no one is thought to be seriously injured."

A spokesman for the East of England ambulance service said: “Three ambulances, a rapid response vehicle and three ambulance officer vehicles were called to the services on the A14 near Godmanchester this afternoon following reports of people found in the back of a lorry.

“Ten people including a pregnant woman and two children have been assessed.“Crews remain on the scene.
